Panguitch Lake Campground is located 14 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah. Some of the state's largest rainbow trout are fished from the lake each year, and aptly so; "Panguitch" comes from the Paiute word meaning "big fish." Visitors also enjoy canoeing and exploring the Panguitch Lake ATV Trail System. |

The campground has units on both sides of the highway. The North Unit is the larger of the two, with several single and double sites and three group sites. All sites in the North Unit are reservable. A few sites have lake views. Amenities include flush toilets and drinking water. Horseshoe pits and a volleyball court are on-site, though campers must provide their own net and ball. An amphitheater near the group sites offers limited weekend programs and church services. Roads and parking spurs are paved. The South Unit is managed on a first come, first served basis. It is primitive with dirt roads/spurs and vault toilets. This unit it more suited to tent campers, offering 18 tent sites and one RV site. |

Panguitch Lake is just 14 miles from Cedar Breaks National Monument, with hiking trails and guided tours. Just outside Cedar Breaks is the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area, where hikers will find 10 miles of trails and the Twisted Forest, a stand of ancient bristlecone pine. Bryce Canyon National Park is just over an hour away, with breathtaking scenery and excellent hiking opportunities. |

The lake is situated high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 8,400 feet. A forest of ponderosa pines covers the campground, which lies on a hillside about a quarter-mile above the lake. Deer and elk are often seen in the area. |

Panguitch Lake offers great fishing for rainbow, brook, cutthroat and brown trout. Canoeing is a popular activity on this small body of water. Boat ramps are located on the south shore and at Wildlife Point. The Panguitch Lake ATV Trail System offers more than 100 miles of trails and can be accessed nearby. Other activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding and hunting. |
